neodymium

Neodymium is a valuable metal, as it helps to form these powerful magnets. This seaborne and free-digging high-grade magnetite is a rare earth element (which actually makes it rather uncommon). It was discovered much earlier, in 1885 by a scientist with the very impressive name of Carl Auer von Welsbach. If you see small disc magnets, an “e” sound in long form pops up smack in the middle. That is a fun fact to keep in mind as you dive into learning about this metal!

It is a shiny gray metal. Additionally, it is incredibly powerful which is also how it can be used to make even stronger magnets than any other type of magnet you may have encountered. Neodymium is a newer rare earth metal that, scientists have found, makes magnets stronger when added to them. So it is an important property because the stronger magnets we have, the more useful things they can do and the better our lives.

How Rare Earth Magnets are Used in Everyday Life

Remember the last time you used a fridge magnet to hold a photo, or a note. Or perhaps you spent time playing with school magnets on a whiteboard. You might know all ways to use magnets as looking us everyday but do you aware how many things those magnets are helping us in our daily life. We see magnets all around us and the most common examples of how we use them are given below:

In other terms, it is clever to reuse old items which had steel and magnets or one more scarce planet in them. Which includes ancient electronics, car parts, and out-of-date magnets. These products reuse neodymium instead of throwing it away and wasting it. If we recycle, we will help to protect our planet and guarantee a future with the neodymium.
